This cultivar is part
Mildred
Seaver's "Sea
Series" of hostas. An
open-pollinated seedling of H. 'Sea
Sprite' was registered by Mildred in 1981. It forms a low,
dense mound with narrow, heavily rippled, faintly corrugated
foliage with average substance. Bright purple flowers open in
July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...improves on 'Chartreuse Wiggles' and other narrow-leaved, golden
H. sieboldii types with
its more regular rippling and better substance."
Seedlings include H. 'Excuse Me'.
