Hosta 'Sea Dream'

A hybrid of H. 'Neat Splash' Ă— an unnamed seedling, this cultivar was registered by Mildred Seaver of Massachusetts as part of her Sea Series in 1984. The foliage turns more green as the season progresses. It forms a large size (24 inches high by 49 inches wide) mound with wavy, slightly corrugated leaves. The medium lavender flowers open from mid-July into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "In addition to forming a fairly dense mound of attractively variegated, wavy foliage, 'Sea Dream' possesses a fast growth rate, making it an excellent choice as a specimen plant or large ground cover."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Protect the thinnish leaves from strong wind. Increases rapidly."
