This H. 'William Lachman' seedling was registered by
Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan in 2002. It forms a medium size (14 inches high) mound of slightly wavy, foliage
with reddish petioles. Deep purple flowers are produced from mid-August into September. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Ed Elslager selected this for its combination of
white-edged foliage and red petioles that can be seen due to its
semi-upright mound habit. The deep purple flowers also add to
its value."
