According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009), "This
hosta has also been known as 'Samson', but the published
name (ibid) is 'Sam Son'. It was on display at the 1988
National Convention of
The American Hosta Society in Michigan (also labeled there as 'Sam
Son')." There is an image of
a plant labeled 'Samson' on the
Hosta Library. From the photo on the HL website, it appears to be a
giant
size hosta with heavily corrugated dark blue-green leaves.
It bears white flowers. This non-registered cultivar was
originated by
Clarence Owens of Michigan.
