Hosta 'Sacramento'

This sport of H. 'Sutter's Mill' was registered by Mark Zilis of Illinois in 2010. It grows into a large size hosta about 22 inches in height with a spread of around 45 inches. The foliage is dark green with a golden yellow marginal variegation. Its leaves are lightly wavy, moderately corrugated and have thick substance. The flowers bloom in June into July.

Sacramento is, of course, the capital of the state of California which is also the location of Sutter's Mill where gold was found setting off the California Gold Rush in 1848.
