This cultivar was registered in 2000 by Jerry Hadrava of Iowa as a hybrid of two of his seedlings named "Hadrava Seedling RD-BS" x "Hadrava Seedling RD-900". It is a small size hosta with dark green foliage that has a creamy yellow marginal variegation. Bright purple flowers bloom in August.
