this fast growing, medium size (16 inches high by 24
inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of (H.
'William Lachman' x H. 'Love Pat') × H.
'Abiqua Drinking Gourd'.
It is intensely blue-green with
a yellow marginal variegation. The nearly round leaves
are slightly rippled, deeply cupped, heavily corrugated
and moderately wavy
with a glaucous bloom on top. Pale
lavender flowers with darker interior stripes and
lighter lavender edges bloom from mid-June into July on
scapes 21 to 24 inches tall followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...Cupped, glaucous
blue with yellow margins. Chosen "Best Seedling" leaf
at the 2018 Midwest Regional convention...glaucous bloom
fades to medium blue-green with heat and sun." |
