Jo Duncan of Minnesota in 2016, this fast growing,
rhizomatous cultivar
is of unidentified parentage. It becomes a small size hosta
about 10 inches high by 24 inches wide with yellow
foliage. The leaves are lanceolate, wavy, slightly folded
and dull on top with petioles that have red speckles.
Tubular, downward hanging flowers with stripes bloom
from mid-August into September on scapes about 24 inches
tall. The registration
materials state: "Grows well in poor soils, rhizomatous.
Bright yellow leaves on red-speckled petioles with deep
purple flowers; colors of Mardi Gras...red speckles on the petioles become
more intense as season progresses." |
