This fast growing, medium size (12
inches high by 14 inches wide) cultivar is a
seedling of H. 'Katsuragawa Beni' × H. 'Uncle Albert' was originated by
Jeff Moore of Wisconsin and registered by
Jim Schwarz of
Jim's Hostas of Iowa (now owned by
Uniquely
Hostas of Wisconsin) in 2015.
It has medium green foliage that is slightly wavy and slightly shiny on top. Medium lavender,
tubular flowers bloom from mid-August into September.
According to the registration material, 'Red Rover' has "...noticeable veins and maroon-speckled stems."

beni as red or rouge and the the term -gawa or -kawa as river.
