This non-registered cultivar
forms a medium size (18 inches high) mound of bluish green foliage. The main
feature is the reddish speckled leaf petioles.
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009) notes that this cultivar is "...in the
Wilson
collection, Ackworth, Iowa; not listed for sale."
Red Grange (1903-1991) was a legendary football player for
the University of Illinois known as "The Galloping Ghost". Of
course the Grange is also an association of farmers and I guess
the name of the cultivar could refer to a Grange Hall that was
painted red...probably not. |
