A hybrid of the species
H. pycnophylla x H. yingeri, this cultivar was originated by
Roy Herold of Massachusetts
and registered on his behalf by
Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. The medium size mound is about 11 inches tall with
a spread of around 30 inches. Its foliage is lanceolate,
distinctly wavy, twisted and with thin substance. In August,
deep purple flowers bloom.
There was also a non-registered hosta from
Russ O'Harra called H. 'Quills'.
