This is
considered one of the "historic" hostas that has been around for
a very long time. It was registered in 1986 by
Connie Williams
on behalf of her mother,
Frances Williams. The plant grows
into a medium size hosta
about 16 inches in height with a spread of 38 inches. It has
medium green foliage that is slightly wavy with smooth texture
and average substance. Bright purple flowers bloom from
mid-August into September. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...known for its great abundance of purple flowers over a
rounded mound of foliage. Unlike its siblings ('Lavender Lady',
'Slim Polly', 'Snow Flakes', and 'Tinker Bell'), 'Purple
Profusion' exhibits characteristics of both parents."
