Another of the many hybrids of H. 'Galaxy' × H. 'Maekawa' from
Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan, this cultivar was
registered in 2002.
It has dark blue-green foliage with greenish yellow marginal variegation. The large size plant grows about 26 inches
in height by 32 inches in width with an upright growth habit.
The broadly ovate leaves are moderately cupped, moderately corrugated and
slightly shiny on top. Its petioles are green with yellow streaks and edges.
Pale lavender flowers with purple stripes and translucent margins bloom in July
on scapes 28 to 32 inches tall. Viability of the seeds was not known at the time
of registration. The
registration materials state: "...tall, rugged
vase-shaped, glaucous, blue-green, with yellow margins; leaves rise majestically
skyward resembling mountain ridges."
