Greg Johnson of Iowa registered this hybrid of H. 'Kinbuchi Tachi' ×
H. sieboldii in 2004. It grows to about 11 inches in height
with a spread of 32 inches. The chartreuse colored foliage has
red petioles. Medium purple flowers bloom in midsummer.
Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term kinbuchi
as gold-edged or yellow edged and the term tachi as upright, 'Tachi Gibōshi' or
H. rectifolia.
