Jim Dishon of Michigan registered this hybrid of
H.
pycnophylla x H. montana in 1996. It forms an
upright growing, medium size (13 inches high by 40 inches wide) mound of
blue-green foliage. Near white flowers bloom from mid-July into
August followed by viable seeds.
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "The thick glaucous bloom soon disappears from the
upper leaf surface, which is then very shiny, giving a gunmetal-like
appearance...gracefully shaped leaves."
