Paul Aden of New York registered this cultivar in 1987 as a hybrid of H. 'Blue Hugger' × H. 'Love Pat'.
It grows to a medium size (13 inches high) mound with ovate shaped leaves of
thick substance. Pale bluish lavender flowers bloom from late July into August
followed by viable seeds.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Though registered as a seedling of 'Love Pat' (its
pollen parent), 'Peace' exhibits many
Tardiana like traits,
including foliage shape, color, and substance."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "When grown in the shade, the leaf center is bluer;
when grown in some sun, a magnificent display of flowers emerges. Slow to
increase but can eventually become larger than its registered dimensions given
optimum growing conditions...Flower scapes stand well above the leaf mound for a
hosta of this type, and the flowers are deeper color."
