Hosta 'Ophir'

A non-registered cultivar of unidentified parentage, this plant is from Dr. Ullrich Fischer of Germany. It forms a medium size hosta about 17 inches tall that spreads about 46 inches wide. The leaves are elliptic when young and ovate at maturity. They are rippled with a whitish shine on the underside and are of average substance. The petioles are a reddish color on the lower end. Pale lavender flowers bloom on tall scapes.

According to a Google search, Ophir is a port or region mentioned in the Bible, famous for its wealth.
