of Iowa in 2016, this large size (23 inches high by 28
inches wide) cultivar
is of unidentified parentage. The foliage is pale yellow,
slightly rippled, broadly ovate, slightly corrugated and
dull on top. Tubular flowers bloom from mid-July into
August on scapes up to 32 inches tall.
The registration materials state: "Leaf presentation,
mound shape and pale yellow color when mature...Starts out greenish-yellow, then
turns pale yellow..."
An article in
The
Hosta Journal, (2017 Vol. 48 No 1), says that the Ohh! stands for Old Home Hostas
and Clare is a shortened version of the name Eau Clare
which is a small town in Iowa.
