this large size (21 inches high by 40 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Greybeard' ×
H. 'Ruffed Up'. It has lanceolate, golden-yellow
foliage that is moderately twisted, slightly shiny on
top and wavy overall. Deep purple flowers with dark
lavender stripes inside bloom from late July into August
on scapes 18 to 22 inches tall followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "Long, bright golden
yellow leaves have a slight twist and pointed tips.
Purple flowers provide nice contrast. Can tolerate 1/2
to 3/4 day of sun. Bright golden yellow color persists
all season long."
