this large size (24 inches high by 50 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Galaxy' ×
H. 'Sum and Substance'. The foliage is olive
green with a narrow golden-yellow marginal variegation.
Its long, ovate leaves are moderately twisted, heavily
rippled and curled at the tips. Medium lavender flowers
with light lavender striping inside bloom from July into
August on scapes 32 to 38 inches tall followed by viable
seeds. The
registration materials state: "Olive green centers
with wavy, rippled gold margins."
There
are also cultivars named H. 'Olive
Oil' and H. 'Olive
Oyl'.
