A large size hosta, this non-registered cultivar is a sport of H. 'Color Glory' originated by
Kirk Brill of Iowa. The blue-green foliage
with a gold colored marginal variegation is heavily
corrugated and has thick substance. Near white flowers
bloom in dense clusters from mid-June into July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...close to 'Frances Williams' in overall appearance
and, like the latter, develops some spring desiccation
burn."'
This
cultivar won the 2014 William and Eleanor Lachman Award at the
First Look hosta competition as the best seedling as chosen by the AHS
Judges. It also won the
Mildred Seaver Award at the First Look hosta competition as the best seedling as chosen by the Attendees.
