This slow growing
seedling of H. 'Uncle
Albert' was registered by Chick Wasitis of Bridgewood Gardens of Virginia in
2008. It
is a medium size hosta about 16 inches high by 45
inches wide with shiny, dark green foliage. The leaves
are slightly rippled, narrowly ovate and have a thick
bloom on the bottom. Pale purple flowers in clusters
bloom from late August into September. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...another of Chick Wasitis' cultivars named after
popular songs. Others in this group include 'Maggie
May', Mustang Sally',
Purple Rain, Satisfaction, Sergeant Pepper', 'Surfer Girl', and 'Uncle Albert'."
