Hosta 'Minnesota Nice'

This medium size (14 inches high by 20 inches wide) cultivar is a sport of H. ventricosa 'Aureomaculata' which was registered by Ron Snyder of Minnesota in 1997.

The foliage starts the season dark green with a yellow and green medial (center) variegation which turns all dark green later in the season. Later leaves to emerge are green with white streaked variegation followed by dark green leaves with yellow is medial (center) variegation again. The foliage is wavy, ovate, slightly rippled and slightly shiny on top. Medium lavender, bell-shaped flowers with a white edge bloom in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...goes through three variegated color phases before turning dark green..."
