of Massachusetts, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified
parentage. It is a medium size, upright growing hosta with
blue-green foliage. The leaves are slightly wavy and
come to a point at the tip.
On
the Hosta Library website, an image of this plant was
submitted by Rick Goodenough and was spelled 'Miles
Standish'. At the Hosta Lists website, a cultivar named
'Myles Standish' was listed as having blue-green
foliage.
Myles
Standish (c.1584 - October 3, 1656) was an English
military officer hired by the Pilgrims as military
adviser for Plymouth Colony in America.
