this large size (26 inches high by 40 inches wide)
cultivar is a seedling of H. montana 'Aureomarginata'
×
H. 'Sea Gulf Stream'. It is a medium blue-green
color with leaves that are broadly ovate, relatively
flat and slightly shiny on top. Pale purple flowers with
purple and white stripes bloom from mid-July into August
on scapes up to 30 inches tall. The
registration materials state: "...Gnarly and highly
corrugated for the first few years, then smooth and
creamy upon maturity...darkens slightly as the season
progresses."
