This cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated at
Wayside
Gardens when they were located in Mentor, Ohio. It was registered by
Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1978.
'Mentor Gold' forms a medium size mound about 12 inches
high with a spread of 38 inches.
The lance shaped leaves are
gold to green colored with a white marginal variegation. Its
foliage is corrugated and has thin substance. Medium purple
flowers are in bloom in August.
