This cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Kabitan' × H. 'Saishu Jima' and is part of the "Maui Series" of hostas from William Vaughn who registered it in 1991. A medium size plant 17 inches high by 38 inches wide, it has shiny, dark green foliage. The leaves are corrugated, narrowly ovate and shiny on the bottom.
