This cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Lakeside Little Gem' which was registered by Ray Snyder of Minnesota in 2001. It is a small size plant about 8 inches high by 16 inches wide with shiny, dark green leaves. The foliage is narrowly ovate and slightly wavy. Purple flowers bloom in August.
