Registered by
Amy Bergeron of Michigan in 2008, this cultivar is a hybrid of
H. 'Regal
Rhubarb' × H. 'Ōgon Koba'. It grows
into a small size hosta about 10 inches high and
spreads to a diameter of 20 inches. The heavily rippled leaves
start the season as light green and become bright yellow as the
season progresses. The leaves are intensely wavy, ovate with a
rounded base. bell-shaped flowers begin to bloom in mid-July. Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term koba as small leaf,
'Koba Gibōshi' or
H. sieboldii and the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow.
