Ken Anderson of Minnesota registered this cultivar of unidentified parentage in 1980. It forms a medium size hosta that bears lavender flowers in August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...has never achieved the popularity it deserves...an outstanding medium-size gold cultivar and makes an excellent contrast to blue-leaved hostas."
