This cultivar is a cross of the
species H. ventricosa x H. 'Invincible' which was registered in 1993 by
Mary Chastain of
Lakeside Acres Nursery in Tennessee.
It forms a medium size mound about a foot tall with a spread of 30 inches.
The leaves are shiny, moderately wavy, broadly ovate in shape
with a very shiny underside. bell-shaped purple flowers bloom in
July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...can be thought of as a small version of H.
ventricosa."
