this giant size (38 inches tall by 21 inches wide)
cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Christmas Tree
Gala' ×
H. 'Donahue Piecrust'. The foliage is dark green
with pure white marginal variegations and marbled
coloration in the green. Leaves are broadly ovate,
deeply waxy and dull on top and bottom. Its near white
flowers bloom in July on scapes about 30 inches tall
followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...Broadly ovate
foliage with pie crusted edges. Clean white margins
often streak into the center green swath. Intermediate
marbled tones of green/chartreuse/cream occurs
between the center and margin colors." |
