Hosta 'Krossa Broad Band'

This cultivar was registered on behalf of the originator, Gus Krossa by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1991 and is a sport of H. 'Fortunei Aureomarginata'. This plant is medium size (18 inches high) mound with a moderate level of bloom on the undersides of the leaves. It bears pale lavender flowers in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "There are two cultivars that have gone by the name 'Broad Band'. Peter Ruh renamed the 'Fortunei' type 'Krossa Broad Band', but it is still typically labeled  'Broad Band' in most collections. I've also seen a gold-margined H. 'Elegans' type with this name in a few gardens."

It would appear that the specimen in the picture above has reverted to an all-green H. 'Fortunei' form of hosta.
