Hosta 'Ko Iwa'

This non-registered cultivar is a seedling of H. longipes originated by Kenji Watanabe of the Gotemba Nursery in Japan. It is a miniature size plant with green foliage.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...can also be listed as 'Koiwa'. The white-backed form is called 'Urajiro Ko Iwa'.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term iwa as rock, Iwa Gibōshi or H. longipes and the term urajiro as white-backed or white underside.
