Registered in 2000 by
Barry Sligh of Taunton Gardens in New Zealand as being of unidentified parentage, this cultivar forms a small,
dense mound of foliage. This is another of his
Kiwi Series of
hostas. It starts the season blue-green in color and changes to
dark green as the summer progresses. The leaves are wavy, have a
smooth texture and show a moderate bloom on the underside. Pale
purple flowers bloom in August.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...offers a fast growth rate and could be a useful edger
or ground cover."
