As the name implies, this is an
upright, huge, giant size hosta that towers to 47 inches in
height with a spread of 104 inches that was registered by
Danny Van Eechaute of
Belgium in 2013. The sport of H. 'Empress Wu' has leaves that are dark
green, broadly ovate, slightly corrugated and slightly shiny on
top. Pale lavender, tubular flowers bloom in June. It sets
viable seeds.
