This seedling of
H. nakaiana was registered by
Maxine Armstrong of Nebraska in 1970. It
forms a small size mound of foliage with a dull top surface and
whitish, shiny underside. The leaves come to a distinctive tip.
In July, it bears purple flowers followed by many seed pods.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...also exhibits traits typical of
H. venusta."
