this giant size (35 inches high by 51 inches wide),
upright growing cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Empress
Wu'. The dark green leaves are nearly round, heavily
rippled and dull on top. Near white flowers with pale
lavender stripes bloom from June into July on scapes up
to 49 inches tall followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...large size, heavy
substance, rippled margins, deeply impressed veins,
blue-green early color...blue-green early, changing to
medium green."
