this miniature size (4 inches high by 8 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Yakushima
Mizu' ×
H. 'El Niño'. The ovate shaped foliage is medium
blue-green, moderately wavy and moderately folded.
Medium lavender flowers with pale interior stripes bloom
in July on scapes 7 or 8 inches tall. It does not set
seeds. The
registration materials state: "Tardiana leaf shape
(wavy and folded) on a tiny hosta...turns more blue as
the season progresses."
This
name is the genus of an insect called the common buckeye
butterfly. |
