This cultivar is the result of a
cross between an unnamed seedling x H. 'Sagae' which was registered by
Dr. Jim
and Sandy Wilkins of Michigan in 2000. It forms a giant size mound about 30
inches tall by 70
inches wide with oblong to ovate shaped leaves. The foliage is
moderately corrugated, wavy and has thick substance. In July,
the lavender colored flowers open.
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Suitable as a background hosta or grown in
semi-woodland but would be spectacular as a single specimen in a shaded
courtyard with only paving or stonework as a contrast...A noticeable seasonal
change in leaf color as the leaves turn dark green and the margins become more
yellow."
