This is an historical cultivar which was registered by
The American Hosta Society in 1986 on behalf of the originator,
Maxine Armstrong of Nebraska. It
is noted for its huge, green leaves and the mound grows into a
large size hosta about
25 inches in height with a spread of 57 inches. The foliage is
slightly rippled at the margins, deeply lobed at the base and
has good substance. Pale lavender flowers bloom from late June
into July. According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009), "...shows a strong
resemblance in foliage and flower to 'Fortunei Gigantea' of
which it is probably a seedling."
