This cultivar grows into a medium size hosta about a foot in height and 33 inches in width with lavender flowers in July. It is a sport of H. 'Gum Drop' which was registered by Carolyn Harstad of Indiana in 1990.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...received the Savory Shield Award (best new seedling or sport in a tour garden) at the 1989 National Convention of The American Hosta Society in Indianapolis, IN."
