This cultivar is a
seedling selection which was originated by
Dan Heims of Terra Nova
Nurseries in Oregon and registered on his behalf by
Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. It is a giant size plant that grows to 30 inches in height with
a spread of 60 inches. The upright mound has medium to
dark green leaves that are deeply lobed at the base and are
moderately wavy at the margins. Pale lavender flowers bloom in
July on scapes up to 42 inches tall.
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Very slow to become established but well worth the
wait...Widely spaced individual flowers on scapes which are mahogany tinted
below the distinct floral bracts."
