A medium size (16 inches high by 40 inches wide)
hosta, this cultivar was originated by
Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan. It was registered by
Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar)
on Herb's behalf in 2009 as a seedling of H. 'Saishu Jima'. The
foliage is lanceolate and heavily rippled with a shiny white
bloom on the bottom. Its medium purple flowers
bloom from late July into August.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...acts like a larger form of 'Saishu
Jima' in both foliage and mound sizes."
