Registered by
Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina in
2016 and
re-registered
with new data in 2018, this
cultivar is a hybrid of a hosta called
"Solberg Seedling 49 Best" × 'Red
October'. It has
H. longipes,
H. kikutii
and H.
pyncophylla in its genetic background.
This is a
medium size (14 inches high by 24 inches wide) hosta with
intensely blue-green foliage and cranberry
red colored petioles. It bears medium lavender flowers on arching
purple scapes from August into September followed by purple seed pods.
The registration materials state: "Pointed blue leaves
with waxy tops and bottoms, cranberry petioles into the
leaf blade."
