Barbee
of Ohio in
2017,
this large size (24 inches high by 48 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Sagae'.
It is a golden-yellow hosta with leaves that are
broadly ovate, slightly wavy and slightly shiny on top.
Pure white flowers bloom from June into July on scapes
24 to 36 inches tall followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...Beautiful gold
color with white blooms...starts out greenish-yellow
changing to golden yellow later."
The
TV show was I Dream of Jeannie. But, according to an
email from a friend, this cultivar was named for Mrs
Barbee whose name is spelled Jeanne.
