Originated in Japan, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a medium size hosta with green
foliage that is wavy and slightly corrugated with a
semi-upright habit. The unique feature of this plant is
the narrow petals and semi-double trait of the pinkish
lavender flowers. They are borne from August into
September on scapes about 30 inches tall.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The name...would imply that this is a double flowering H. kikutii and it does bloom at the correct time for
H. kikutii. The mound habit and foliage,
however, differ from that species in the nursery grown
plants that I've seen (and now grow)."
