Another plant, the Chilean lantern tree is of the
species Crinodendron hookerianum. We suspect
these plants are named for famous plant person Sir
Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817 – 1911) who was a British
botanist and explorer in the 19th century.[1]
He was a founder of geographical botany and Charles
Darwin's closest friend. |
