Originated in Japan, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage but has
H. longipes in its background.
It is a small size hosta with smooth, green foliage that
is misted with shades of green and white. The leaves
have red petioles. Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term nishiki as brocade (rich-colored woven fabric) i.e.
something colorful and beautiful.
