This non-registered sport of the
species, H. montana, was found in the wild in
Japan by
Masaru Sakurai. It grows into a large size mound with ovate leaves
that are often green streaked and are distinctly wavy.
It bears very pale lavender flowers from late June into July. According to
The Hostapedia by
Mark Zilis (2009), "Hida is the area where Mr.
Sakurai found this plant growing. With the word "hana" meaning
flower, it translates to "flower of Hida"." |
